Imagine you commission a mechanic to make some changes to your car and every time he/she was finnished you went back to change the height of the bumper an 'inch higher' or 'tint the windows just a little darker' - 'oh no, I preferred it lighter'. Expectations of designers (not just web designers) can be a little high because these sorts of changes are often expected without hesitation. Thank goodness for the clients that just see something that looks good and go 'Very nice, thankyou.'. So to those clients out there (and to all dream2reality clients - because we've been lucky that way), 'THANK YOU'.
For those designers still beating there heads on the wall, read this article by Oatmeal to cheer yourself up. (Appologies to readers with visual impairment or with screen readers.)

Last Friday I went to a rather nice Indian restaurant for a networking business curry. The meal had a great flavour and I managed to exchange about 20 business cards. To those of you whom I met, I would just like to thank you for your time and pleasant conversation. I look forward to doing it again.

Having been to the CS5 event at the Omi center in Edinburgh yesterday I have to say I found I was very well looked after.

The refreshments were sponsored by HP (that's Hewlet Packard for those that don't know their printers). So we had coffee on tap, bottled water, pop corn and even Haagen dazs ice cream. Which was nice.
Meanwhile, the chaps at Adobe demoed what's new in their suite of software to try and tempt the cash out of our pockets and I'm surprised to say that I am actually really excited by their changes.
The most important changes are from Dreamweaver. They went half way through their production with their usuall 'wonderfull' ideas and then realised - hey, we need to make this for developers who use php technologies for CMS websites. Well hello? Finally they saw the light and now you can tap into a page with nothing in it but 'includes' and 'requires' and still actually edit the whole thing in design mode! All joking aside, this is massive. They actually edited a Wordpress website in design mode live...
As if that was not enough, photoshop has kicked things up a notch too. You can now take a photo of a model against a wall in the wind and cut her out, fine hair and all, and use her in another picture. 'But that's not all' they kept saying. Well, when you cut a model out of a photo you are left with a big whole and in photoshop things are no different. Atleast, that used to be the case. You can select to intelligently fill that space and honestly the fill is remarkable. Like the photo was of the wall and that the model was never there. Very impressive. There were actually too many other improvements overall to list them here and the implications of what you will be able to do with Adobe are exhausting.
For a chance to win yourself a copy of CS5 suite get yourself over to Adobe. Good luck and have fun.
Oh, I should probably mention Catalyst. Actually, I'll leave that for another time.
